Texas Contract Floors began in 1984 as a partnership serving the apartment management community in Houston. The work was unglamorous — re-carpet turns, vinyl in kitchens, occasional new construction. But the company learned early that flooring on multifamily projects is, more than anything, a coordination problem.
Over the next four decades the business grew with the Texas multifamily industry. By the late 1990s we were running full new-construction floor packages — carpet, vinyl, hard surface, base, and transitions — on garden-style and mid-rise communities across Texas and Louisiana. By 2010 we were a regional trade. Today we install flooring across a multi-state service area, with our world headquarters relocated to Schulenburg, Texas.
The work has changed. LVT replaced sheet vinyl. Gypcrete replaced plywood underlayment. Sound-mat assemblies replaced single-layer carpet pad. ADA threshold enforcement got real. Through every shift, our discipline has been the same: own the substrate, own the schedule, own the punch list.
